Government as well the Police should not take it lightly: Mika Singh on death threats to Salman Khan

Popular Bollywood singer Mika Singh is all set to find his perfect match in a Swayamwar for Star Bharat. The show has been titled 'Mika Di Vohti' and Singh is quite enthralled to go on this special journey and find his soul mate on national television.

The show is being shot on a grand scale at the beautiful locations of the blue city- Jodhpur. Recently, a press conference was held at the same place wherein Mika spoke at length about about his journey to find a perfect bride in show along with other important things.

Talking about his life partner, Mika said, "Well, all the contestants in the show are beautiful and I like and respect everyone. One quality that is a must-have in my life partner would be that of hospitality. As a Punjabi, we love and respect our guests immensely and I would like my would be wife to carry forward this ritual".

While many celebrities stay tight lipped about various political issues in the country, Mika has been always quite vocal. When asked about Salman Khan receiving a death threat, Mika didn't shy away from sharing his thoughts, he said, "The past incidents that has happened are quite upsetting and it's raising an alarm regarding the security of a layman. If known celebs like Sidhu Moose Waala and Salman Khan are being threatened and killed in  the broad day- light, imagine about the security of a common man. Salman Bhai receiving death threats is astonishing and I believe, the government and the police officials shouldn't take it lightly. Having said that, I also feel that everyone who receives such threats shouldn't take it lightly and should be alert. A few years ago, I was also threatened and I made sure that I keep the police officials informed about the same. I remember having a chat with Sidhu a few days before his murder, he had told me about the threats that he was receiving and I also suggested him to shift to Mumbai. I wish, I could have asked more details about the same and help him in any way. Many celebrities are often threatened but they should nit succumb to it and should stay alert".

Writing an 'R. I. P' on Instagram story is not going to help. It wasn't a sudden death, he was murdered and it needs to be addressed. I would like to appreciate the media for not letting the topic dry down and asking relevant questions which needs to be answered.

In the interview, he also revealed that he wasn't in the mind set to shoot for 'Mika Di Vohti' post Moose Waala's death, he said, "Just after the country lost a young talent like Sidhu, the next day legendary singer KK passed away. These are upsetting and tragic news. I didn't feel like shooting for the show post these news. The production and the channel have been kind enough to let me take a breather and process two of the most sudden deaths in the music industry. After taking a break of a day or two, we started the shoot again, as they say, the show must go on".

On many popular Punjabi singers being mum on Moose Waala's death, Singh said, "It's really upsetting that some of the popular singers of Punjab who have a lot of fan following staying mum on Moosewala's death. Writing an 'R. I. P' on Instagram story is not going to help. It wasn't a sudden death, he was murdered and it needs to be addressed. I would like to appreciate the media for not letting the topic dry down and asking relevant questions which needs to be answered. It has been a while since the dreadful incident happened and nothing concrete has been done about the same. I hope the media continues to talk about it, so that eventually justice is served".
