Ganapati visarjan in an Eco-friendly way!

One of the much loved festival in India namely Ganesh Chaturthi arrived and it is now also time for its visarjan. The enthusiasm and joy of celebrating this festival is seen in every house. But well in this celebration many a times we forget about the precautions that are to be taken. Mostly people get Ganpati Idol which is made up of POP, which when immersed in the sea pollutes the water and is very harmful for the sea and in turn to the environment. 

Hence Eco-friendly Ganpati idols are much preferred and if not Eco-friendly Ganpati then immersing the Ganesha idol in a pond is more better. Some people these days immerse the idol in a tub of water at home itself and keep the same idol for next year and re-use the water for plants.

On the same we got in touch with a few telly celebs who too believe in Eco-friendly visarjan of their Ganesha idols.

Actor Angad Hasija who celebrates this festival every year and also brings a Ganesha Idol at his home says, ""I believe in bappa very much and it has been many years now that I get Ganpati at my home during Ganesh Visarjan."

"Every year I follow a theme for the decoration of my Ganpati idol and according to that I get the Ganpati idols. Few years back I used to get Eco-friendly Ganesha at my home as I used to do its visarjan in the sea. Eco friendly Ganpati idols immerse easily in the water and they do not pollute it either."

"Now I do the Ganpati visarjan in pond which is even the more better. Since I have got the Ganpati idol made of POP this year, it is going to good to do the visarjan in a pond."

Well there are few who think about the nature too, good to hear about the same from the actor Angad Hasija. Just like Angad Hasija, actress Ankita Bhargava also believes in immersing the Ganesha idol in a pond, "Immersing Ganesha Idol in the sea pollutes the water as well is dangerous for the sea animals which I do not like it at all. It is very sad to see the plight of the Ganpati idols after the visarjan day, and many people are seen stamping the idols too while their visit to the beaches. I prefer immersing the idol in a pond which is a very safe and the best way of Ganpati Visarjan. In fact I would suggest the same to other people too who keep Ganpati at their home."

Anchor cum actor Manish Paul too believes in doing the Ganpati visarjan in an eco-friendly way. We couldn't reach Manish Paul but his wife Sayunkta said, "It has been 5 years now that we are getting Ganpati at our home. We were very much clear from the very beginning that we would not contribute to the noise pollution and avoid the band-bajja way of visarjan. Also we feel that immersing the Ganpati idol in the sea which is already polluted is a disrespect to Ganesha. Hence we prefer to do the Ganpati Visarjan at our home in a water tub. Later we pour the same water to the plants."

Says actor Vishal Malhotra, "My wife and I have been keeping an eco-friendly Ganpati for the last two years and this is our third year to welcome Ganpati into our house. We keep it for one and a half days. We do the visarjan at home itself in an eco-friendly bucket and then use the water to water our plants."

Talking about his visarjan, actor Mohit Malik who too supports the theme of eco-friendly Ganapatis says, "I have been welcoming Ganpati since the last three years. My friends and family come over to celebrate the festival with us and its definitely a festival that brings a lot of positivity with it. We went eco-friendly since last year and our Ganpati is made of natural clay which easily dissolves in water."
