From Bollywood to TV...In conversation with Charu Rohatgi!

Starting her journey with popular films like No One Killed Jessica and Ishqzaade, Charu Rohatgi has now ventured into exploring varied characters in the world of Television. She is currently seen in SAB TV's latest presentation, Trideviyan.

Let's get to know more about the character in the show.

Charu, you started your journey on TV with Ladies Special and have been a part of established shows such as 'Ek Thi Naayka' apart from movie projects like 'Ishqzaade'. How has your journey been so far?

I started my journey from acting in Calcutta with doing films like Patiala House, No One Killed Jessica, Kuch Luv Jaisaa, Ishaqzaade and Second Marriage Dot Com. I have an equal interest in television also and hence I am trying to explore TV after doing films.

I love my job..acting on any platform is a passion for me.I don't leave any opportunity to act and let my audiences enjoy my different roles.

What is so unique about your character in Trideviyan?

I steel. I am seen as a kleptomaniac and a trouble maker for the Chauhan's all the time. I bring home trouble and my son Deenanath Chauhan solves them.

Why did you choose to take this role?

I play a very graceful and elegant woman. According to me, such grandmothers are unseen on Indian television.

Do you think there needs to be a variation of shades for actors too, after they cross a particular age?

Life is full of challenges and I love them. On the sets of Trideviyan, I am currently having a lot of fun and frolic with the entire star cast and I am by far the head of the family. Personally speaking, I am open to doing any kind of role offered to me. I don't believe in only playing mother or grandmother.
