The film stars Sanjay Dutt as Inspector Mahadev Bhosle, the leader of an encounter squad in very his own style and Amitabh Bachchan, whose character breaks ties with the underworld to migrate into politics. To help Sanjay Dutt in his project is the handsome Rana Daggubat, who is also an inspector, and siding apart from these three is Vijay Raaz who portrays the role of a Mumbai Don.
