Chuck Lorre's spinoff of his Sheldon cooper-esque travels back to the challenging childhood of 9-year-old Sheldon Cooper, played by "Big Little Lies's" Iain Armitage with adult-Sheldon voice-over narration from Jim Parsons. With Armitage's on-screen cuteness, the peek to Copper's past is worth a watch. The series premiers in India on 3rd November, Friday,  at 9 PM on Comedy Central.

Hang on! Before you begin watching the show, here are 5 things you need to know about Young Sheldon!

1. Zoe Perry has familial relations with a Big Bang Theory actor.

I am sure you think Zoe Perry is the spitting image of Mary Cooper on The Big Bang Theory. That is because she and actress Laurie Metcalf, who plays Mary on that show, are related! They are mother and daughter and now it makes perfect sense that Zoe has taken on the role.

2. The show is being shot in a single-camera format

Unlike Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon is a single-camera comedy. This is Lorre's first time doing a show without an audience. Wonder Years was an influence for producers when they were writing and used that for inspiration. Another reason that Young Sheldon ditched the multi camera format is that the pacing is very different. Since they are working with a cast of young children, this seemed more appropriate for the kids to give their best and have the time to develop their characters.

3. Sheldon won't be a "brat."

While we know adult Sheldon as annoying, producers had to find a way to avoid having the younger version of the character being a "brat." The character of Sheldon can be despicable and so hard on his best friends but the audience forgives him. But when you take those same qualities and ask a 9-year-old to bring that, that's a brat. That's not something very pleasant to watch. The show revolved around his life when he's very naive. He's not yet become cynical and overly controlling. He has his idiosyncrasies but he's much more vulnerable and nave. At age 9 he's a more innocent and hopeful version of Sheldon.

4. Jim will also narrate as adult Sheldon.

Jim Parsons was the brainchild behind the idea for the show. Jim Parsons revealed that he was the one who originally pitched Sheldon's childhood story. In addition to coming up with the show and serving as Executive Producer, Jim will also "reprise" his role as adult Sheldon, adding voiceover narration to key parts of the episodes!

5. Iain Armitage auditioned to become "Young Sheldon" by recording an iPhone video.

Last Christmas at his grandmother's house in Georgia, Armitrage auditioned for his role through an iPhone video. Iain has never watched Big Bang Theory before but the result of his audition result won over the show's makers. The 9 year old claimed that he doesn't watch a lot of TV and also the show was aimed at a different audience.
