Mayur Verma who was seen portraying negative shades in shows like Bade Acche Lagte Hai and Kya Huaa Tera Vaada on Sony and Jeannie Aur Juju on SAB TV has completely disappeared from the small screen off late.
Last seen in episodic shows such as Aahat - The All New Series and CID the actor then went on to do a Kannada film. But what is keeping the lad away from taking up daily soaps? Tellybuzz, went on to ask him about the same and we were surprised to know what he had to tell us!
Mayur said, "Well, I have essayed negative shades in the past and I want to continue with that. I have been getting calls for positive roles which I am not interested in currently as I do not think I fit into those roles. Also, playing negative characters is a lot more fun than positive roles."
While actors fear of being typecast in doing particular genres and want to experiment with their look and character sketches, here we have Mayur who is not open to doing so!
When we quizzed him on the same, Mayur elaborated, "Well, I do not want to be typecast. When I say I am looking at portraying a negative shade does not mean I want to play a baddy, a don or a villain. There are various characteristics of playing negative roles such as a person who is good natured but notorious or a casanova for that matter. Every individual has some negative streak and I would be glad to flaunt one on-screen."
Well said Mayur!
