Erica Fernandes reveals getting FLASHES of being PHYSICALLY ABUSED after watching Shaheer Sheikh’s ‘Do Patti’

Erica Fernandes, who rose to fame with her stint in Sony TV’s Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi opposite Shaheer Sheikh, recently spoke about being in a physically abusive relationship and how, Shaheer Sheikh’s film ‘Do Patti’ took her back to those times.

On Shardul Pandit’s podcast recently, the actress, opening up about her traumatic past reveals that her ex boyfriend was not from the industry but was a buisnessman. She later laughs off saying that he was not even a buisnessman but a part time buisnessman. The actress also revealed being asked to ‘quit the industry’ if her relationship would go ahead. Opening up about posting a picture of herself flaunting a ring, the actress said, “My ex at that point needed security Kyun ki main actress hoon. So the world knows that she is with someone else, that’s all that the picture was about, nothing else. It was not to show the world that I am engaged or something.”

“I have gone through a very violent relationship. Physically abusive also. It had reached a stage where there was physical abuse but I did not want to get out in open at that point of time because when you’re an actor, everything becomes news. If you go to the cops, it will become news and then there will be a media trial.”

The actress further states that she does not trust the judicial system and hence also avoided going to the cops. “There’s judgement and then there’s this thing ke bhai ye toh publicity ke liye kar rahi hai. This is the reason why women do not speak. Because they also get targetted eventually ke ‘itna time se chup kyun thi, abhi kyun bol rahi hai.’ Itne time se chup isliye thi Kyunki aap log bolenge ke publicity ke liye kiya hai.”

It actually took a toll on me and when I watched ‘Do Patti’ Shaheer ki, I was watching it for you know his performance and everything, but when I watched the film, it took me back to those days.”

Throughout the interview, the actress refrained from naming who the person was. However, she did mention that the said person did not belong to the entertainment industry.
