Entries open for Script-2013 short film fest

Kochi, Oct 19 (IANS) Have you made a socially relevant short film? Your chance to showcase it is here -- entries for Script-2013, a unique festival for short films with socially relevant themes, are now open now.

The entries for films with a duration of 30-minute are open for five categories - Filmmakers, International Films, Students, Documentary and Mini/Ad films with a social message (two-minute).

The last day to submit is Nov 15, according to the organisers.

The detailed rules for entry is available on the festival website - www.scriptfilmfest.in, one of the organisers of the festival told IANS.

Into its third edition, the two-day festival will be held here from Feb 8 next year and it will be free for filmmakers and the audience.

Organised by the Rotary Club of Cochin Metropolis, based in the commercial capital of the state, the festival has now been approved by the Public Service Broadcasting Trust and the Indian Documentary Producers Association.

Kuala Lumpur International Short Film Festival is a partner for the event.

All categories carry a cash prize Of Rs.25,000 for first winner and Rs.15,000 for the second along with the Golden Halo award.

Revathy, award-winning South Indian film personality, will head a four member jury.

Last year's edition of the festival saw some outstanding films being screened, including one from Green Oscar winner Mike Pandey.
