"On my grandmom's side, a special dish is prepared which we call as Pai-bhaji and we also have khichdi and pakoda made at our home. I used to help my Mom while make it. I like to have sweets on diwali but as I have a spicy tooth, I prefer to have spicy food the most. I am very much afraid of putting on weight but going on a diet and working out in gym will help me to reduce weight soon."
Veebha (Vibha) Anand to be seen as Subhadra in Star Plus' Mahabharat -
"Whatever food is prepared at our home in Diwali is prepared by my Mom. There is nothing special but my Mom used to make Coconut sweets for sure. I used to help my Mom while making it but now I hardly get a chance to visit to my home so I miss doing it. I remember how we used to do puja and keep diyas outside our house which only I used to do it because I love doing it. We used to have lots of sweets during Diwali without caring about gaining weight."
Gaurav Khanna who was last seen playing the character of Krish in Sony TV's Byaah Hamari Bahu Ka -
"I am in my hometown for Diwali and winters are about to start. We have dry fruits and sweets as a must in Diwali and I also have all the food made there which I don't get in Mumbai like good Mughlai food. Diwali is one of my most favorite festivals and I love the season too since I can wear winter clothes. I have come to Kanpur after a long gap of 6-7 yrs. for Diwali. I have come here to meet my family and have homemade food. I help my Mom by finishing whatever she has made (laughs). I do help in buying sweets and all other things and they trust my choice. I love bursting crackers and I have grown up doing this so I will be buying crackers too. I am not at all afraid of gaining weight because I know that I will knock it off soon. I am sure that that I will be gaining weight by having lots of sweets this Diwali but I also know that I will reduce again within a week when I come back to Mumbai."
Harshali Zine was last seen playing the character of Tanvi in Diya Aur Baati Hum. -
"Traditionally we prepare variety of sweet and namkeen food during Diwali. But we prepare it in small amounts as large amounts of sweet food become difficult to consume. I enjoy preparing Shankarpali, Karanji and Chakli. It is lot of fun. Keeping in mind the 'good health' factor, we substitute sugar with artificial sweeteners which have very less calories and prepare it only in small amounts."
Rashmi Desai is currently seen playing the character of Tapasya of Colors Uttaran - "My mom Rasila Ajay Desai makes variety of sweets including Gujiya and Mohanthal during Diwali. We are Gujratis and Diwali is like a New Year for us. I am a foodie so I eat everything and don't go on a diet on Diwali but eat little. If I put on weight then I will work out and do yoga. Diwali means being happy and spreading happiness. Food is what everyone likes and the weather too is pleasant now."
