Ekta's new fixation..

Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms recently launched Bairi Piya on COLORS. And now she is all set with Bayttab Dil Ke Tamanna Hai, which will launch on Sony Entertainment Television on October 6th, at the 10 PM slot from Monday to Thursday.

But what is interesting is the striking similarity between the concept of the two shows. According to our source, "Bairi Piya's protagonist Amoli will have to make a decision that will force her to choose between morality and survival. Similarly, in Bayttab… the eldest sister Kanchan and middle sister Shamoli will also be made to choose between morality and survival."

The source further adds, "Ekta, for a very long time was comfortable doing shows that belonged to the saas-bahu genre. Only when the situation became such that saas-bahu shows started getting heavily panned and other concepts hogged the ratings, did Ekta change the format of shows that were churned out of Balaji Telefilms."

So this brings up the question. Will Ekta now make the 'Morality versus Survival' concept her forte? Says our source, "Even her next show Pyaar Ka Bandhan, on Sony which launches on 7th October at the 10.30 PM slot deals with a mother giving up her four children due to utter poverty. Here again she repeats the concept of a vulnerable female giving in to the pressures of poverty, just so that her children can survive."

We just wonder, when people get tired of this, what will Ekta's next formula be…
