ED summons Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Panama papers case
Actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is summoned by ED in the Panama paper leak case.

Bollywood superstar Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been summoned by the ED in the Panama paper leak case that revealed how offshore firms are used to stash the wealth of the world’s rich and powerful.
The actress was summoned twice in the case earlier in 2016 a list of lists in the case was leaked which had 1100 Indians on it. However, the actress has reportedly sought another date for questioning.
The leaked documents were originally obtained by German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung. At least 12,000 of these fresh documents are linked to Indians.
According to reports, there have been celebrities and businessmen on the list.
It may be recalled that Amitabh Bachchan’s name had cropped in the Panama Papers case which is also being probed by the Income Tax Department.
The summon was sent to her Mumbai residence 'Pratiksha.' The actress was asked to respond within 15 days, following which he replied via email. An Ed official said,
"We summoned her for December 20. As of now, we haven't got any reply from her side. The summon was sent to her Mumbai residence."
If she doesn't join the probe, the ED will think of further legal action. They might seek legal opinion from the experts to decide the future course of action, added the official.

She will make a comeback after four long years with filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s ambitious historical fiction drama ‘Ponniyin Selvan’.
The actress will reportedly be playing a double role in this film which is based on iconic writer Kalki Krishnamurthy's historical fiction novel of the same name.
Set in the backdrop of Chola Dynasty, the epic novel has been adapted for the big screen by Mani Ratnam along with writer B. Jeyamohan, who has penned dialogues for the movie.
