Dishoom Trailer Review

Dishoom features two of the most good looking actors of the industry, John Abraham and Varun Dhawan, who've come together for the first time in Rohit Dhawan's directorial debut.

When two of the hottest hunks of Bollywood come together for a movie, you know you're in for a sizzling (skin) show. Dishoomfeatures two of the most good looking actors of the industry, John Abraham and Varun Dhawan, who've come together for the first time in Rohit Dhawan's directorial debut. Interestingly, Dhawan is the son of acclaimed director David Dhawan, and Varun's brother.

The trailer opens with stunning long shots of a cricket stadium and a voiceover talking about India's batting sensation Viraj (Saqib Saleem). Viraj, however, ends up getting kidnapped 36 hours before a crucial match for India, and it is up to Kabir Shergill (John Abraham) and Junaid Ansari (Varun Dhawan) from the Special Task Force to find Viraj and bring him back to safety before the impending final against Pakistan. The rest of the trailer comprises of beautiful shots of Dubai and thrilling action sequences as Kabir and Junaid attempt to find Viraj.
Returning to Bollywood after a hiatus of four years, Akshay Khanna essays the role of the antagonist inDishoom, reminiscent of his role inRace(2008). The movie also stars Jacqueline Fernandes and Om Puri, whose characters help Kabir and Junaid in their quest to rescue Viraj from captivity.
Special mention has to be given to the cinematographer of the movie, Ayananka Bose, famous for films such asDostana(2008) andKick(2013). The visuals inDishoomare absolutely stunning, and the varied use of different camera angles only serve to enhance the beauty of the locations. At the same time, Abraham and Dhawan have not shied away from shedding their clothes and regaling the viewers with the sight of their chiseled abs, which definitely adds to the glamor quotient of the movie.
The movie tries to play on the theme of good cop-bad cop, which is a rather novel theme in Bollywood, given how we haven't seen such a film in quite some time. One needs to take note of Dhawan's impeccable comic timing, which only seems to improve over time. Rohit Dhawan seems to have picked up on his father's writing and directing skills, as the comic scenes in the movie did elicit a laugh.
While the film doesn't seem to be anything extraordinary or out of the box, the intense action sequences reminiscent of Rohit Shetty movies and breath-taking visuals have definitely generated curiosity in the minds of the viewers. Whether or not this movie is able to impress the critics and audiences at the time of the release, however, is something only time can tell.
Nadiadwala Grandsons' Dishoom is all set to release on the 29th of July, and we at BollyCurry strongly encourage you to head over to YouTube and check out the trailer for yourself.
