Despite box office failure, Song Joong Ki's Bogota: City Of The Lost takes No.1 position on Netflix

After his movie Bogota: City Of The Lost tanked at the box office in South Korea, Song Joong-Ki faced a lot of trolling, especially by fans of Song Hye-Kyo. However, the movie is now No.1 on Netflix proving that he is still one of the top Hallyu stars. Bogota: City Of The Lost is being watched a lot in Mexico and the Latin American countries. He already has a fan base there. The film that deals with drug cartels, mafia and immigration has resonated with people in those regions. Song Joong-Ki worked hard on this project for more than two years. It has been filmed in real locations in the country.

The movie is now in the top spot ahead of Back In Action and Lucca’s World. It has reached top spot in 24 countries of the world. Bogota: City Of The Lost is also at top in Netflix Philippines. Well, the craze for Hallyu stars is at another level in the island nation. Song Joong-Ki had cried at one of the events saying how Korean movies are under-performing at the box office. He said that as an actor he worked very hard to bring together a cherished project for his fans. None of his two films succeeded at the box office in Korea.

Song Joong-Ki also spoke about how wife Katy Louise Saunders has Colombian ancestry. His mother-in-law is from that place. He said that while people knew about the drug cartels, he saw a different side of its people – the passion, dance and love for food. People are also thankful for the representation of Colombia in such a human manner.
