Deepika Padukone recollects her first meeting with Shah Rukh Khan, says couldn' understand what was happening'

Deepika Padukone, who was recently seen in 'Gehraiyaan,' is currently filming 'Pathaan' in Spain with Shah Rukh Khan. The duo is reportedly filming a song in scenic locations throughout Spain. Deepika recently referred to her co-star as "India's biggest superstar."

The Gehraiyaan actress recalled her early days as an actor and her first encounter with SRK in an interview with an international magazine. She made her big Bollywood debut alongside Shah Rukh in 'Om Shanti Om'. She received a lot of applause from the audience at the time.

Deepika revealed that when she first met SRK, she was 'almost in a daze.' She went on to say that she was sitting on the edge of the sofa, nervous, and unable to process what was going on. She also revealed that she was never called in for an audition for the film. She added,

"Even today, I look at (the director, Farah Khan) and I’m like, ‘What were you guys thinking?"

The actress also stated that her first encounter was "almost served to her on a platter." She stated that she was so well presented and cared for that she assumed that was just the way it was going to be, and that the directors would always make sure that I acted well, that my diction was on point, and that she looked amazing. According to the director of photography, it took her many films to realize that this is not always the case.

Meanwhile, Deepika has a full slate of films ahead of her. She has 'Project K,' a remake of 'The Intern,' 'Fighter,' 'Pathaan,' and is working on a film about her father, Prakash Padukone.
