Dalljiet Kaur Wishes to Contribute to the Changing Portrayal of Women On Television

Dalljiet Kaur has enjoyed a really long career on television, where she has had the opportunity to play all kinds of roles and experiment to her heart's content. From doing daily soaps to non-fiction and also reality shows, Dalljiet has been there and done that. And this has in fact, led to her being a witnessing to the changing times of telly land. 

Dalljiet says, "I've been in the industry since 2004 and have been around for a really long time now. It feels like forever."

Ask her what is the one encouraging change that Indian television has seen and the actress replies, "Fortunately, I have seen how slowly but gradually, the portrayal of women in TV shows has undergone a change. And I feel thankful."

"This is one industry that has changed with the progressing times. From being just glam dolls in the frame to having shows being written and conceptualised with women in the forefront, I will say that we have come a long way."

On the occasion of World Television Day, Dalljiet has just one wish - "On this day, I sincerely wish that this change never stops and I hope to play a huge part in this change with every project of mine."

Dalljiet was last seen in the fiction space in Guddan Tumse Na Ho Paayega and in the non-fiction space in Bigg Boss 13. She will soon be joining Jay Soni and Ragini Khanna in Sasural Genda Phool season 2.
