'Dadagiri' returns - this time to fight terrorism

Kolwel (Goa), May 3 (IANS) From climbing cliffs to using real-life AK-47s and pistols - contestants of the third season of reality show 'Dadagiri' will be seen doing all this and more.

Titled 'D3 Commando Force: Dadagiri Against Terrorism', the show this time embarks on a mission to turn civilians into real life commandoes to counter terrorism.

'The purpose of 'Dadagiri' was to help people overcome fears and in today's time our biggest fear is terrorism. This show is our attempt to educate the youth how to be socially responsible and act fearlessly,' Nikhil Gandhi, Business Head UTV Bindaas, told reporters here.

The show that goes on air May 8 will see 14 contestants following military regime and using real weapons under the guidance of Captain Albert Louis, Captain Kshitij Sharma and Captain Dharamveer Singh at the Boot Camp in Kolwel, at the outskirts of Goa.

They will be trained in survival tactics, water landings, night navigations, camouflaging, raiding, art of sniping, ambush etc.

At the end of each episode, two people will be eliminated. The winner of the show will walk away with the cash prize of Rs.1 million.

'We are also in talks with the army to send the winner to the front where soldiers combat with enemies,' Gandhi added.

The format of the show is divided into three parts - first training, after that the participants will be given a mission to complete, and finally they will be put into a war-like situation.

TV actor Vivan Bhatena has been roped in to host the show along with Vishal who hosted 'Dadagiri 2'.
