'Creatives should think out of the box' - Benaf Dadachandji

Benaf Dadachandji aka Baby of Baa Bahu Aur Baby feels that Indian television needs a complete make over. “Apart from my show, I hardly like one or two other serials. Its high time creatives started thinking out of the box. Why cant people make shows like Lost and Prison Break??”, questions the actress. 

On the reason for not doing more television, this 21 year old says, “I am a lazy girl. I also need time for other stuff such as doing yoga, working out, watching movies or just chilling with friends. As a young person I need to grow and learn life, rather then spend 30 days on the same set”.

Coming to Baa Bahu she quips, “It’s a different show. People have actually come and told us that they are inspired by us to return to the joint family system. Unlike over the top dramas, we actually show people having dinner and bitching about other members of the family, like normal people do”. 

Besides TV, she would not mind trying her hand at movies as well. “I would like to do off beat projects like Mumbai Meri Jaan”, avers the actress. But at the same time she does not completely rule out conventional Bollywood projects as well. “If I get comfortable in that zone you never know”, quips the charming Benaf.

Ask her about reality shows and she says, “Nobody offers me dance shows, may be they think that I have polio in real life.  On a more serious note, I am more comfortable in western movements (salsa) rather than filmy step”.

In closing Benaf confesses that she is totally dumb in tech stuff, but loves cars. “Zipping around in a Honda Civic is fun.  My favorite pass time is praising myself (grins)”.
