Contemporary actor Vijay Chavan passes away

The actor know for his role in 'Moruchi Maushi' completed over 350 movies


The veteran Marathi actor 'Vijay Chavan', who nailed a number of comic roles in Marathi films passes away. The stage and screen actor performed in movies like 'Pachhadlela', 'Jatra', 'Halal', 'Shreemant Damodar Pant' and many more. He explored quite a large number of characters in different genres apart from comic roles.

Chavan who was especially known for his plays and screen characters breathed his last today at Mumbai's Fortis hospital in Mulund after battling a prolonged lung disease. The stage artist is best known for his character 'Mavshi' in the stage drama 'Moruchi Maushi'.

The versatile actor was a fatherly figure for many young actors across the Marathi film industry. Chavan has worked in over 350 films in Hindi and Marathi.
