CID 2: Shivaji Satam, Dayanand Shetty's show under the scanner for low TRPs? Makers given ultimatum

CID 2 started with a bang in terms of viewership. It did quite well as compared to other shows on the channel. However, the TRPs have dipped. One of the reasons is the availability of the season on Netflix. Many prefer to watch it on OTT due to flexibility of time and other reasons. As per reports, the makers have been given four weeks to improve the numbers of the show. The channel might take a call on the future of the season after that. As of now, we are seeing a track where Daya (Dayanand Shetty) might emerge as a villain.

Parth Samthaan made an entry as ACP Ayushman on the show when Shivaji Satam went on a break for a few days. They had shown that he was killed by Barbozza. Later, Satam made a re-entry on the show. Episodes later, it was revealed that the traitor in the CID Bureau was none other than Dr Salunkhe who was the head of the forensic department. This was not liked by viewers. The gang was loved for their camaraderie, loyalty and commitment for one another. It was the essence of CID over the years.

It seems channel officials have said there is no truth to such news of CID 2 going off air. They said the viewership on OTT is quite good. Parth Samthaan’s stint on CID 2 was also liked even by the original viewers. He brought a freshness with his youthful appeal. CID 2 has given viewers some twists and turns but people are not liking this negative angle to the OGs. It is reported that CID 2 will go off air once Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 starts airing. However, that theory does not make much sense. On a positive note, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 4 and Ami Dakini have got good ratings.
