BollyCurry is back yet again with "Celeb In the Spotlight"! This week, we're shining the light on sexy John Abraham.

The charmer was born to a Malyali father and Parsi mother in Mumbai on December 17, 1972. His father was an architect and mother's name is Phiroza Irani. He has one younger brother, Alan. John studied economics at Bombay Scottish School and then received his MBA from the Mumbai Educational Trust.

Like most actors, Abraham also started with modeling. His first assignment was a music video for Punjabi singer Jazzy B's popular song "Surma". From then on, he did modeling assignments in Hong Kong, Singapore, New York City, and London. The star featured in many advertisements and came in second place in the 1999 Gladrags Manhunt Contest.  John completed an acting course with Kishore Namit Kapoor while doing modeling assignments.

The lad received his big break with Jism, a thriller film that released in 2003 and was a big hit.

He went on to starring in other high profile films such as Saaya [2003], Lakeer - forbidden lines [2004] and  the huge blockbuster Dhoom [2004]. 2007 saw him featured in two more movies, Salaam- E-Ishq: Tribute to Love, and Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal.

In 2008, he shot to fame with the film Dostana alongside Abishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra.

He will be seen onscreen with Piggy Chops once again for his upcoming film 7 Khoon Maaf, a story of a woman and her journey to find love which results in her having (and losing) seven husbands. John is to play one of the unfortunate seven. 

Did you Know....
    • John's Parsi name is Farhan and Syrian Christian name [his father was Syrian Christian] is John.
    • He has been dating Bipasha Basu since 2002.
    • He works for social causes and encourages others, particularly, youngsters to join in as well. 
    • He has donated 10 Lakh Rupees to the Lilvati Hospital and Research Centre in Mumbai.

Look out for John in Saat Khoon Maaf, hitting a theater near you on the 18th of February!
