Buried Hearts Episode 16: Park Hyung-Sik's thriller ends on an emotional high note; S2 in offing?

Buried Hearts has turned out to be the biggest success for Park Hyung-Sik. It is also the first big show for new actress Hong Hwa-yeon who delivered a fine performance as Seo Eunnam. In the finale episode, we saw how Seo Dong-Ju (Park Hyung-Sik) is now the head at Daesan. Eunnam and he are in top positions taking the company to greater heights. We can see that he is still very loyal to the chairman. He does his best to protect Daesan from the smear campaign of Assemblywoman Seok. Dong-Ju is tormented with the ghost of his father Il-do. In episode 15, he had found out who was his biological dad. We just did not get to see any good moments between them as he was killed by Yeom. 

In episode 16, we find out that Dong-Ju had kidnapped Yeom (Huh Joon-Ho) and kept him in the vault of Daesan. His wife has been crying since months, and even has an emotional conversation about his mother to Dong-Ju. Seonu (Cha Woo-Min) and his mother fume as he loses the position of Daesan’s CEO to Dong-Ju. We can see that Eun-nam and he are together but their equation is not as romantic as before. 

Finally, Yeom is released but his life is without any meaning. He is crazed by his defeat. Dong-ju wants to spend some time alone, away from Daesan and its story of trauma and revenge. 

However, Seonu (Cha Woo Min) turns hostile and pushes Taehyun off a wall. He was not aware that Taehyun did not want the post of the CM. Yeom is under arrest. Dong-ju is living the quiet life of a fisherman. But Seonu has turned tyrant and the cycle of ambition and revenge has started once again. 

We have to wait and see if season two is announced. The sight of Dong-Ju on the boat with weapons is an indication of more drama to come. Fans were upset as Eun-nam and Dong-Ju did not team up or get much time together in the series. Will S2 resolve all this and show us villainy of Seonu?
