Bollywood Icon Poonam Dhillon's Khar Residence Robbed: Painter Arrested for Theft

Veteran Bollywood actress Poonam Dhillon recently fell victim to a theft at her Khar residence, where jewelry and cash were stolen. The incident involved a diamond earring worth Rs. 1 lakh, Rs. 35,000 in cash, and 500 US dollars (approximately Rs. 42,923). The prime suspect, a painter who had worked at the property during the festive season, has been apprehended by the police.

As reported by Free Press Journal, the Khar police arrested 37-year-old Sameer Ansari on January 6. Ansari was part of a painting crew hired to work at Dhillon's Khar West home between December 28 and January 5. According to the report, he seized the opportunity when he noticed an unlocked cupboard containing the valuables.

The theft was discovered when Poonam Dhillon's son, Anmol, returned from Dubai on January 5. Upon finding the items missing, he informed his mother, and a police report was subsequently filed by her manager after consulting with the domestic staff.

Ansari, upon questioning, confessed to the crime. It was revealed that he had used Rs. 9,000 from the stolen cash to host a party for his colleagues, who were also part of the painting team.

Poonam Dhillon, primarily residing in Juhu with her son, occasionally stays at her Khar property, which became the target of this heist. The authorities have successfully arrested Ansari in connection with the case.
