Last week, we saw how movies faired in 2007 and which movie stood out and which movies made audience to be out of theatre. Now let’s see what Bollywood have in store for us in 2008. Which movie is releasing and what will be the huge expectations from that enterprise.In January, we will start with Rajkumar Santoshi’s Halla Bol starring Ajay Devgan, Pankaj Kapur and Vidya Balan which is base on a social issue. Well the promos are looking very promising, audience will have a change from romantic and typical Bollywood flicks and personally I think this movie is going to be a winner all the way. Along with Halla Bol there will Nagesh Kukunoor’s Bombay to Bangkok and E. Niwas’s My Name IsAnthony Gonsalves And in the end of January we will have Ashutosh Gowarikar’s magnum opus Jodhaa Akbar starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Well expectations from this movie are humongous because of several reasons; firstly the combo of Hrithik-Aish which will be seen after they created fire in Dhoom-2, secondly Ashutosh Gowarikar whose last movie Swades was a meaningful delight to watch and thirdly A.R. Soon after Jodhaa Akbar, the team of Golmaal will return in their next comedy flick Sunday starring Ajay Devgan Irrfan Khan, Arshad Warsi and Ayesha Takia. Then movies like Ek- The Power of One starring Bobby Deol and Nana Patekar, Atul Aghnihotri’s Hello starring Sohail Khan, Sharman Joshi, Ishaa Koppikar, Gul Panag and Amrita Arora which is based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel “One night at Call Centre”. Then we will have Abbas-Mustan much awaited Race which has a huge star cast of Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif and Sameera Reddy. We will also see much delayed Woodstock Villa from which Sikander Kher son of actor Anupam Kher is making a debut. Then we will have two biggies in March 1st one is Subash Ghai’s Black n White starring Anil Kapoor and 2nd Rumi Jaffery’s God Tussi Great Ho a remake of Bruce Almighty starring Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Sohail Khan.
In April we will see Ajay Devgan’s directorial debut U, Meaur Humstarring himself and Kajol and Ravi Chopra’s Bhootnath starring Big B, Juhi Chawla and Shahrukh Khan in guest appearance. Some movies like Har Pall starring Shiney Ahuja, Preity Zinta and Ishaa Koppikar and Harry Baweja’s Love Story 2050 starring his son Harman Baweja and Priyanka Chopra will also release in April.
Then we will have Samir Karnik’s Heroes with many heroes like Sohail Khan, Dino Morea, Bobby Deol, Mithun Chakrovarty, Vatsal Seth and special appearance by Salman Khan and Sunny Deol. There is Sanjay Gupta’s Alibaug starring Sanjay Dutt and we also have SarkarRaaj sequel of Sarkar in 2008 by RGV starring Big B, Junior Bachchan and his wife. In 2008 we will see one more super hero of Bollywood Abhishek Bachchan in Drona with Priyanka Chopra. Then we have apna khiladi Akshay Kumar with three movies 1st is Yash Raj’s Tashan with Anil Kapoor And Saif Ali Khan, 2nd is Vipul Shah’s Singh is King with Katrina Kaif and third will be Nagesh Kukunoor’s Tasveer. Salman Khan has two more along with God Tussi Great Ho in 2008 1st is Prabhu Deva’s remake of Pokhiri Wanted Dead or Alive with Ayesha Takia and 2nd is Subhash Ghai’s Main Yuvraaj with Anil Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. We will also see Yash Raj’s first cartoon film Roadside Romeo directed by Jugal Hansraj with voice over of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. Madhur Bhandarkar will be back with his new movie Fashion this year with Priyanka Chopra. Apna Himesh Bhai will be back with his Karz remake of the original classic. We will also Amitabh Bachchan, Preity Zinta and Arjun Rampal in The Last Lear. Well this year we mite not see the king khan except doing an item number or guest appearances in some movies. We will neither see Aamir Khan nor Hrithik except for his only Jodhaa Akbar in 2008.
