Karan recalled his low point in life, saying, “Sushant helped me a lot. My career was at a low point. He was an engineering student, so he kept his points clear-cut and methodical. He even planned his life meticulously, envisioning where he wanted to be in the next five years.” Sushant not only gave him emotional support but also introduced Karan to important industry connections, which proved invaluable during his rough phase.

During the conversation Saurabh Trivedi, Karan reflected on how Sushant’s guidance helped him break free from addiction and focus on reviving his career. Karan spoke about the actor's influence in helping him regain confidence in himself when things seemed bleak.

When asked if he ever imagined Sushant would need help, Karan responded with disbelief. “No, I didn’t feel that he needed help. It was a major shocker when it happened. He was a very sorted guy. He had a diary where he listed the names of 10-12 directors he wanted to work with. By 2010-2011, he had already worked with 8-9 of them.” Karan's words highlighted how Sushant was always focused on his goals and ambitions.

Karan also shared his emotional reaction to the news of Sushant’s death. “When I heard about it, I was in Delhi. He was very close to my mom and our family. When the news came out, I called my mom to take it calmly. He was a family man and close to me. I was shell-shocked when this happened.” The tragic news left Karan heartbroken, knowing how close they were.
