Bigg Boss 14: Rubina Dilaik says 'When you're going inside the house, I think it's very important to go with a clean slate'

Power couple Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla have made their way to the Bigg Boss 14 stage and they have made quite an impression and there has been a lot of conversaiton about the duo already. Rubina was last seen in Saktii...Astitva Ke Ehsaas Kii and ever since, fans have been looking forward to see her return to the screens.

In a recent interview, she got talking about why she decided to come into the house with Abhinav, will we see her compete with her beau, and more. Exceprts from the interview...

What prompted you to take up the show and that too, together?

Because we've been called together this time and for so long as we were being called separately, we weren't sure that we fit in the criteria but now, going together, at least now, we see it as a challenge because earlier there was none, since we are both quiet, there have been no controversies, there is no element of fights, what would we have done sitting in a corner. Now that we'll go together, we'll add some interesting elements to the show.

What was the first thought into saying yes?

I thought that we have kept up with each other all lockdown, we will do the same ahead as well. (Laughs)

Will we see you compete against each other as well?

Of course, very much. Whether the show is there or not, as two individuals also, we don't try to shadow each other because we are together, we both have individual identities and he has his own professional career graph while I have mine. We don't try to preach or teach anything, we will be the way we are and if we are in a competitive environment, we will be with our teams. As contestants also, we are aware that if we are a part of a game show, then that is important rather than just to hang onto each other and it depends on how strong two people are.

You or Abhinav, who does more household work?

Both of us, he is a little picky about it, but he has a very beautiful quality where he believes that the household duties, especially the kitchen work, isn't the girl's alone to bear and he has done everything during the lockdown when there was no staff.

Did you receive any suggestions from friends and family?

Only our parents know friends know after the speculations that have been coming out, so we left them guessing. Our parents had only one piece of advice that go and do well, just don't fight. We haven't disclosed it to anybody, because we have never followed the show, so I've always seen it from a third-person perspective when I've promoted shows or similar things. So when you're going inside the house, I think it's very important to go with a clean slate, otherwise knowing things just cloud your originality or the thought process of how you'll do things and we've kept it open. There will be certain things that we will come to know during our stay about ourselves and each other and we want to be open about it, receptive about it, and not have a preconceived notion about it.
