Bigg Boss 14: Jasmin Bhasin says 'I don’t have those kind of inhibitions that a show can make or break my career'

For the longest time, Jasmin Bhasin denied doing a show like Bigg Boss because she feels she is not cut out for the show. However, the actress has eventually given her nod and we will now see the Naagin 4 actress in the show. She gave the audiences a glimpse into her real self as she stood beside Salman Khan and interacted with him. 

We got in touch with the actress ahead of her entry into the show and she got candid about all things Bigg Boss 14, her expectation from the show, her mindset, and more. Excerpts from the interview...

What prompted you to finally say yes to the show?

Obviously, I did have inhibitions as far as the show is concerned and from whatever I have seen, I have always enjoyed the show and it is one of my favourite shows to watch. Every year, when I was offered Bigg Boss, I used to be tied up with a prior commitment, and this time that was not the cast. I do feel that I am not the right cut out for the show, but I thought why not pull myself out of the comfort zone and challenge myself, so I said yes. Because of the lockdown, life had anyway turned boring sitting at home.

Your personal life has always been away from the eye of fans and social media. Will this be an opportunity for fans to know you better?

Yes, people will get to see all sides of me, and it is also a show where you see normal human emotions – like getting hurt, being angry, or being loving, caring, etc. So that will happen, of course, while I will also be comfortable in showing those sides of me to fans.

Bigg Boss is a show that can make your break your image in multiple senses. Do you feel that way?

I don’t have those kind of inhibitions that a show can make or break my career, because at the end of the day, it is a game show and everyone goes there to play the game. Hence, people shouldn’t be judged on that, so this did not come to mind or affect me.

Do you think it will be difficult to keep up with the popularity of the last season?

I am not doing this show to compete with any of the seasons or to set a new benchmark, I am doing this show because I have been a fan of the show and because for me, this was an opportunity that came to me. I don’t want to go inside with any pressure and the success of any show depends on the complete team, single-handedly, no one can do anything. So let’s hope that this year too, it is a fantastic team and we do really well and we all get great numbers.

Aly Goni was supposed to be a part of the show, is it something you were looking forward to?

If he would have been there, it would have been so much fun for me, I definitely know. But I think fans will get equally entertained by me as well. And the friendship that he and I share, it is there on social media, and once I am out of the show, people will get to see that bit again.
