From the time when society looked down upon film people to now when children from well-off families are aspiring to make career in filmdom, Indian cinema has come a long way in the last 100 years, says Amitabh Bachchan.

The Indian movie industry completes 100 years this year.

"In these 100 years we have done a lot of progress, at least for the society. Earlier, film stars were looked down upon in the society, but now we have reached a stage where children from well-off families aspire to become a part of the industry," Amitabh said at and event here.

As a part of centenary celebrations, four filmmakers - Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee and Anurag Kashyap - have come together to make "Bombay Talkies (2013)".

Releasing May 3, "Bombay Talkies (2013)" unveils four different stories directed by the four directors respectively.

Big B is all praise for the younger generation of filmmakers and said: "I feel great about the new generation because I feel that they are very capable, doing a great job and all of them are moving in the right direction. They are hard working...they show so much talent that we have never seen."
