New Delhi, Feb 9 (IANS) After travelling to 15 film festivals across the world and wowing film buffs, Buddhadeb Dasgupta's 'Janala' will be screened here Feb 25 and the director is happy that finally fans here will get to see his film.
'Janala' is the acclaimed filmmaker's latest exploration of a 'school window' on celluloid.
' 'Janala' is an attempt to be a reminiscent of the times when we sometimes try to make a simple dream come true, but the cogs of destiny leave us feeling unfulfilled. The film has been showcased at 15 film festivals across the world and has been well received. I am glad 'Janala' is now releasing in India and the audience here will see it,' Dasgupta said in a press statement.
The film has music by Biswadeb Dasgupta and has been produced and released by Reliance Pictures. Starring Indraneil Sengupta and Swastika Mukherjee, the story touches on the nostalgia of childhood and the quest to get back to roots while struggling to keep one's neck above the waters.
'Janala' was premiered in the Masters of World Cinema section at Toronto International Film Festival and since then has been to various film festivals such as Telluride Film Festival, the US, London Film Festival, Mumbai Film Festival, Hong Kong Asian Film Festival, International Film Festival of India, Mahindra Indo- American Arts Council Film Festival, New York and Dubai International Film Festival.
