#BanNetflixIndia Trends on Twitter; Netflix India Under Fire For Allegedly Showing Hindus in a Poor Light!

Netflix is one of the top players in creating digital content. The popular OTT platform has brought several shows and movies online, it has been at the forefront in the creation of original digital content for various markets. The streaming giant entered the Indian market with Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Sacred Games, India’s first web series and went on to produce a number of original series and movies for the Indian audience. However, the streaming giant has become controversy's favourite child. 

Netflix India recently landed into a few controversies over showcasing religious content, which has hurt the sentiments of certain people. Earlier, a member from the Akali Dal slammed Netflix and the team of Sacred Games 2 over a ‘kada scene’, he urged Netflix India to remove it as it hurt the religious sentiments of Sikhs. Later, a Shiv Sena activist named Ramesh Solanki filed a complaint against Netflix India accusing that it is defaming Hindus globally, citing examples of web content like Sacred Games, Leila, Ghoul and the shows of stand-up comedian Hasan Minhaj, accusing Netflix of trying to "paint an incorrect picture of Hindus and India globally."

After the series of controversies and complaints, Twitteratis are bashing the platform and demanding for a ban on Netflix India.
