Banita Sandhu on drawing parallels of 'Bridgerton' sets to SLB's and the surprise element of her appearance

Banita Sandhu, famed for her performance in the film 'October,' has recently made headlines with her role in Netflix's 'Bridgerton' Season 3. Portraying Miss Malhotra, Sandhu has injected a new energy into the series. Her appearance this season has attracted considerable attention and ignited discussions among fans online.

Recently, the actress got in a candid conversation with India Forums about her presence in the global show and how it has been a great experience for her.

When asked about her surprise reveal in the show and why she didn't choose to reveal it earlier, Banita said, "I think what really worked was the surprise element. My character is introduced very quickly within the first couple of minutes, and people were like, 'Oh my god,' with this crossover. Everyone kept saying they gasped and were surprised. I've always believed in letting my work speak for itself rather than relying on noise. I'll ask my publicist, but I really shy away from doing PR. I believe the most organic way to connect with my audience has been through my work, and this project was another instance where that happened."

When asked about seeing her response to the social media edits and reactions on fans spotting her Banita remarked, "I was getting tagged in so much. I really didn't expect to have that much of a response. I was watching everything I could see because, for me, the most beautiful moment in all of this was the joining of my Indian audience with this big global show. People feel represented and included, and that was the most warming thing—the love I got from the Indian audience."

When asked about the sets of the show as compared to those of Sanjay Leela Bhansali in India, Sandhu gushed,

That's actually a great parallel. With Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the attention to detail is so vivid and well-crafted. I would say the exact same thing applies to Bridgerton. What surprised me the most was that despite being such a big production with incredible grandeur, the intricate attention to detail really blew me away.

Meanwhile, shedding light on her upcoming projects, Banita Sandhu said that she will next be seen in a Bollywood ensemble movie, the announcement for which will be made soon, and she will also be making her Telugu debut.
