‘Ban The Family Man S2’, demands Tamil director Cheran

Manoj Bajpayee starrer ‘The Family Man’ season 2 has been mired in controversy ahead and even after it’s release.
After backlash from religious groups, Tamil filmmaker Cheran has now called for a ban on the The Family Man S2. The director took to his official Twitter handle to express his displeasure after watching the web series.
Cheran is known for Tamil films Autograph, Bharathi Kannamma, Porkkaalam and Vetri Kodi Kattu among others.
In his tweet, Cheran said that the show misrepresents the history behind the fight for the liberation of Tamils in Sri Lanka. He also stated that he has unsubscribed to Amazon Prime which is currently streaming The Family Man 2.

Earlier after the release of the trailer, Rajya Sabha MP Vaiko had written a letter of complaint to Information and Broadcasting Minister, Prakash Javadekar seeking a ban on ‘The Family Man Season 2.’ In his letter, Vaiko said that the trailer depicts Tamilians as terrorists and ISI agents having links with Pakistan.
Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) Founder Seeman had also demanded a ban on the web series for allegedly portraying Tamils as vicious and the Liberation Tiger for Tamil Eelam (LTTE) as terrorists.
Directed by Raj & DK , the Family Man S2 features Manoj Bajpayee and Samantha Akkineni in lead roles.
