Late actor Irrfan Khan’s son Babil is an avid social media user. He often shares a few updates from his personal life or posts throwback pictures of his late father which are nothing short of a treat for his fans. However, the star son no longer does that and the reason is sure to break your heart.

On being quizzed as to why he no longer shares memories of Irrfan, Babil took to his story and shared a screenshot of his reply,

I loved sharing and then I get these Dms all the time saying that I'm using him to promote myself and that really hurts when in fact I was genuinely sharing memories to fill up the void that he left in his fans. So I'm so confused on what to do. I'm trying to figure out but it really hurts when random people message me saying I'm using his memory to gain clout, like I needed to do that, I'm already his son, I never needed to do that to gain anything. Now I'm perplexed and a little hurt tbh. So I'll share when I feel like it's the right time.

He further added, “For Baba's fans wondering why I have stopped sharing memories of him.”

Babil Khan

In a career span of 32-years, Irrfan Khan made a quintessential debut in Bollywood with a feature film - Salaam Bombay! It was an unusual and one of a kind attempt that decided his fate for years to come and laid the foundation of an actor who would lead to being one of the critically acclaimed actors of all time.

Babil recently attended the Filmfare Awards 2021 to receive the tribute honoured to his late father. Irrfan was awarded the Best Actor (posthumously) and Lifetime Achievement Award for his splendid contribution to Indian Cinema.

It was indeed an emotional moment and son Babil Khan could not hold his emotions and broke down in tears as he went on the stage to receive the award on behalf of his late father.

Irrfan Khan passed away on April 29, 2020, after a two year battle with cancer.
