Ayushmaan Khurrana and Jitendra Kumar starrer Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is creating a stir in the B-Town but for all the good reasons. The movie, first of it's kind in Indian commercial cinema talks about homosexual relationship between the two men and how the society views it. The trailer is being loved by one and all.
The movie also starrs some of the big names in bollywood including Gajraj Rao, Neena Gupta, Sunita Rajwar, Maanvi Gagroo and Manurishi Chadha. In one his his interviews with Bombay Times, Ayushmann explains how it felt like to kiss a man on screen. While he says it was not really awkward, he puts it as different. As a straight male himself, it is bound to be different. It is also an attempt to normalise how our society views this. It was required in the script, Ayushmaan describes, and to prove the authenticity of the character, seemed like a necessary thing to do. While the movie is commedy, it really delves deeper into taboo topics as the movie progresses.
Describing the shoot, the actor said that it took him 3 takes to film the kiss. While many may see this as too much westernization pouring in, the actor pitches it as a totally normal thing and wishes people to see that message in the movie.
