Amid the dreadful situation of the Coronavirus pandemic in the country, Bollywood celebrities have come forward to provide help in every way possible. Many notable actors like Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Kartik Aaryan, Alia Bhatt, Hrithik Roshan, Vicky Kaushal, among others have donated their contributions to the PM Cares Fund and also stood in support of the daily wage workers by providing essential commodities.

Actress Ayesha Takia and her restaurateur husband Farhan Azmi have offered their hotel in South Mumbai to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to be used as a quarantine facility.

A Spotboye report quoted Farhan as saying, “Yes, we have given our Gulf Hotel for quarantine to the BMC. We are together during this time of crisis. We have handed over our hotel to BMC and the Mumbai Police as the quarantine centre. Ours is a small hotel. And we hope that in future, the government should support small businesses too.”

Celebrity couple Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan too offered their four-storeyed office space in Mumbai to BMC as a quarantine facility. "When we say ‘mybmc’, then it’s with a sense of ownership and pride in all the efforts your teams are putting up to fight COVID-19. We both are thankful that we could be a part of your attempts to help and care for Mumbaikars,” the couple wrote on Twitter.

Actor Sonu Sood too offered his Mumbai hotel as a residential facility to doctors and other medico workers who are treating COVID-19 patients. “It’s my honour to be able to do my bit for the doctors, nurses and para-medical staff of our country, who have been working day and night to save people’s lives” he stated.

The number of cases worldwide has reached a staggering number of 2, 182, 197 and more than 13,000 cases are reported in India.
