Actors in mythological shows have to shoot in the jungles, under the hot sun and often do things to get into the skin of the character to ensure they give a perfect shot. These outdoor sequences come with their set of challenges and at times actors are also subjected to a life and death situations.

Revealing one such incident, Ashish Sharma who played the lead role in Chandragupt Maurya currently airing on Dangal TV shares, “We were shooting for a scene of Chandragupt Maurya in the jungle, where the Greek Army was supposed to be passing by and I had to climb a tree to hide from them. I was the only one up on the tree and the whole unit was around the tree when we noticed a bunch of cobras coming towards the tree. Everyone panicked and ran away leaving me right there on the tree for an hour. We had to arrange for a snake charmer who helped us manage the snakes and only then was I able to climb down. That was one rattling experience, literally!”

The story talks us through how Chandragupta Maurya overcomes several obstacles in his path to establishing the Maurya Empire under the able guidance of his chief advisor, Chanakya.

Catch Chandragupt Maurya, the historical fiction drama daily on Dangal TV at 12:15pm and 10pm.
