The Lady with the ‘Oomph’ and Great Screen Presence, Aroona Irani is all set to play Durga Khanna in Maayka.. An Actress from a complete Bollywood Background, Aroona Irani has left no stone unturned when it comes to Television. The Brain behind successful serials – Des Main Nikla Hoga Chand, Mehndi Tere Naam Ki and Rabba Ishq Na Hove, this versatile actress was recently seen striking the ‘Perfect’ Chemistry with the gorgeous Sakshi Tanwar in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki.

The mood on the sets of Maayka is very upbeat as all the actors are very eager to work with this Legend.. A very pleasing personality, Aroona Irani had this to say to her fans, “The role of Durga is a very interesting one, similar to what I played in the film Beta. Ashwini of Zee called me up and asked me to take this role. I had no second thoughts because its been a long time since I did such a role.”

On asked whether we will see Narayani Devi in future, she exclaims, “Why not? That takes up only 3-4 days of my shooting. Infact another new track is going to be planned with Narayani Devi in it”. Talking about her future project on Zee based on an Icchadhari Naagin, a pepped-up Aroonaji said, “You will get your answers about this show in my press conference which will be held very soon”.

The serial Maayka has seen a big twist last week with the whole ‘Maayka’ of Mahi being wiped off. Now with the entry of the new Durga, Aroona Irani, the serial will surely keep the viewers interested.. Keep a Watch on the TRP charts as Maayka might just reach the Cresecendo when it comes to TRPs…

TV is getting downright nasty with its politics. How can they change the production company of a running show just like that. No wonder I was confused when they showed the bomb blast.

she is a GOOD actress, BUT replacing the current Durga is out of question, why on earth is the NEW production house changing the cast, i myte s well stop watching this show...sorry Shabh & Mahi!

Cool..i loved all of her soaps, be it Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand or Rabbe Ishq Na Hove or Vaidehi or Doli Saja Ke..but my all time favorite will always me Vaidehi..

aruna irani will be a good replacement as she did an identical role of evil saas in BETA (Anil/Madhuri) Shes a wonderful actress...I didnt like the old Durga..she used to overact.
With most of the cast replaced it will be like a new show

well, Aroona Irani is a great actress and i know she will do a great job in maayka =]
but, it's so sad that they got rid of all the main characters =[
rajji, prince, moni, brij, preeto, guddu...all dead...and the rest all changed...like durga
the only same ppl are veer, mahi, shabd...i really want the main leads back...Maayka wont be the same anymore
