Arjun Kapoor's Larger than Life Prep for Panipat will leave you Stunned!

Arjun Kapoor is all set to take you through a historical journey with his upcoming period drama film Panipat. Helmed by Ashutosh Gowariker, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon in lead roles. 

Based on the Third Battle of Panipat, the film essays Arjun Kapoor as Sadashivrao Peshwa. This period drama film can prove to be a significant turning point for the actor’s professional standing. The 34-year-old star has worked best to his abilities to prepare well for this historic character and underwent a massive physical transformation for the same.

During the recent media interactions, while promoting his film, Arjun talked about his vigorous training and larger than life preparations for Panipat. Arjun starts by saying that period films come with a lot of baggage, and he needed to unlearn that throughout the process. He wanted to be casual and not uptight, he wanted to be vulnerable at points as he believes that we forget that besides being a warrior, Sadashivrao Peshwa was a human.

Talking about the gallant action sequences, Arjun stated that it was definitely taxing but for him, but it was a 100 times worse for the stuntmen as they were the actual heroes on set. He also talks about the abundant armors he needed to wear during the shoot. The armors, chains, sockets, and the entire bulletproof vest weigh around 18 kgs, revealed the actor. 

“We shot in May in scorching heat and Ashu sir wanted the sun to hit the metal plates of the armor vest and shine, because that would create a daring effect”, says Arjun.

Talking about his horse riding preparations, Arjun reveals that he trained for two months at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai, and stated that doing action scenes while riding a horse is very difficult. Besides, Arjun shared that he learned the art of Javelin throw too.

Well, going by this, we are excited to see Arjun as Sadashivrao Peshwa in Panipat, slated to release on 6 December 2019.
