The highly anticipated film Sikandar, starring Salman Khan, is currently in production, but the journey has been far from smooth. Director AR Murugadoss recently shared how the shoot became extremely challenging after Salman received death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The filmmaker opened up about the intense security measures on set and the impact they had on the filming process. In a recent interview, AR Murugadoss described how the team had to adapt to heightened security while shooting Sikandar.
Salman sir is completely different. The scale of Sikandar was massive, with scenes involving 10,000 to 20,000 people. Managing such large crowds required high security and intense coordination. Our schedule was already demanding, and the additional security measures made it even more hectic.

After the threats, security on set was tightened, and every extra artiste had to undergo thorough checking. “The process of checking took about 2-3 hours every day. Their entry and exit would take up most of our time, which meant we would often start shooting late and wrap up in the early hours of the morning. Our biological cycle went for a toss. But once we adapted, it became a routine, and the set had a very positive energy,” the director added.
Salman Khan has been under constant security threats, leading to increased police protection. Last year, on November 5, the Mumbai Police received a chilling message allegedly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The message demanded an apology from the actor or a payment of ?5 crore for his safety. “If Salman Khan wants to stay alive, he should go to our (Bishnoi community) temple and apologise or pay ?5 crore. If he does not, we will kill him; our gang is still active,” the message read.
Earlier, in April, two unidentified assailants opened fire outside Salman Khan’s residence, Galaxy Apartments, in Bandra West. The Mumbai Police are currently investigating the threats and tracing the origin of the messages.
Despite the challenges, Sikandar is progressing well. The film, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, also features Kajal Aggarwal and Rashmika Mandanna in key roles. While the plot remains under wraps, fans are eagerly awaiting Salman Khan’s return to the big screen in this action-packed entertainer.
