It came across quite a shock when it was confirmed that actor Anagha Bhosale was all set to quit the Star Plus TRP topper, Anupamaa. It has now been a while since she quit the show and while she has move to her hometown in Pune, another major update has come in.
Bhosale has decided to take a break from the entertainment industry and take the spiritual route. Talking about it with ETimes TV, Bhosale said, “I have been a very spiritual person at heart, and I also actively participate in various spiritual activities. After stepping into the industry, I realised that the industry was the opposite of what I expected. There’s politics, unhealthy competition, the race to look good and reed-thin all the time and pressure to post on social media constantly. If you don’t do these things, you are left behind. These things didn’t gel with my thought process.”
Talking about gaining immense popularity with the show and social media, she said, “Viewers often message me asking why I don’t update my social media handle, but now, I don’t feel it is very important. I am thankful that people gave my character, Nandini, in the show, a lot of love and they liked my chemistry with Paras Kalnawat. I am glad that I am away from the constant pressure to look good and be a part of this mad race, which is not going to take me anywhere. But, at the end of the day, I realised that it was important to break away from all this. I am more relaxed and happier at home in Pune. I want to focus on my spiritual journey and follow Lord Krishna's teachings.”
She then mentioned that she couldn't relate to the double standards in showbiz and the pressure of being something one is not. She mentioned that it is filled with hypocrisy and she now wants to pursue her religious beliefs and attain a sense of peace and contentment in life.
She also clarified that she is only taking a break and not quitting the industry saying, “Producer Rajan Shahi gave me a great opportunity, so if he needs me to come back for a short while, I will return. I also had an offer for another show, but I have let go of it for now. I have not officially announced my decision to quit showbiz, because you should never say never. But I do feel that eventually, I would want to quit acting.”
