Anupam Kher reveals he was Clinically diagnosed as Manic Depressive!

Anupam Kher has stormed his way to the top and the versatile actor is known to be one of the finest actors Bollywood has ever had. He has imprinted his mark on Bollywood as he was awarded Filmfare’s Best Actor for Saaransh in 1984. It could be considered as one of the most successful debuts Bollywood has ever had. The actor learned to master his art with theater and seemed to be raised as the puppet of the stage who never forgot his roots.

Kher in his long line of work has marked several achievements and he has even faced failure. During a recent interaction with Zoom, he revealed the most important lesson that he has learned in his career and said that failure is an event and never a person. 

He also mentioned how one needs to continue doing what you feel is right and then after a few years, you need to reinvent yourself, craft and keep moving on. He also highlighted how a person needs to keep exploring and not boast over your laurels and start every day as a newcomer.

He further revealed that he was diagnosed as manic depressive and that medications helped. The 65-year-old also spoke about how he handled facial paralysis while shooting for Hum Aapke Hain Koun.

I was clinically diagnosed as manic depressive. I went to the doctor, surrounded myself with medication and moved on. Humei apne tarike se deal karna hota hai (we have to deal with it in our own way) and friends and family should understand if one is behaving in a lonely manner it is important to get them out of the zone.

Talking about battling the financial crisis Kher said, “The entertainment world wasn’t prepared for this. There’ve been emotional and financial losses. I’m an eternal optimist and so, I believe that things will soon be fine. Outdoor shoots will be easier than shooting inside studios. Necessity is the mother of invention. I’m sure we’ll invent a way to go about it.”
