Anita Hassanandani has been a familiar name in the world of Indian television, with a career spanning multiple successful fiction and reality shows. Over the years, her name has often surfaced in connection with Bigg Boss, one of India’s most-watched captive reality shows. Though fans speculated she might be seen in the Bigg Boss house, she never became part of the show. Now, she is making her return to reality TV, but through a different path.
In an exclusive conversation with India Forums, Anita discussed her decision to join Chhoriyan Chali Gaon, a new reality format that puts participants in an unfamiliar environment, often without modern comforts or typical competitive structures.
When asked directly about why she chose Chhoriyan Chali Gaon instead of Bigg Boss, Anita shared, “I think Chhoriyan Chali Gaon is the kind of show where you go in empty-handed, but come back with so much more. You learn a lot. We take our lives for granted—our luxuries, our comfort. On a show like this, you get to experience things that I don’t think I would’ve ever imagined otherwise. That’s what excites me, and I think that’s the biggest difference between this and any other show—you return with real growth.”

While the audience might still be curious about whether she will ever step into the Bigg Boss house, Anita addressed the question clearly. “Honestly, I don’t think I’m made for Bigg Boss. Even if I ever wanted to do it, I feel they’d still be hesitant to cast me—because I might not be able to give them what they’re looking for.”
Her comments suggest that she is more interested in formats that offer personal transformation over drama-driven content. Chhoriyan Chali Gaon positions itself as a show where participants experience a shift in perspective by stepping away from comfort and into real-world challenges.

Whether this marks a new chapter for her in reality programming remains to be seen, but for now, she is stepping into a space that feels right for her.
