Anita Hassanandani confirmed for 'Chhoriyan Chali Gaon,' actress says, 'Gaon mein bhoot pret..'

Anita Hassanandani, a familiar face on Indian television, is set to return to screens with a new reality show titled Chhoriyan Chali Gaon, which will soon air on Zee TV. Known for her work in long-running daily soaps such as Kkavyanjali, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, and Naagin, this marks one of the few times she has stepped into the reality genre in her over two-decade-long career. The show’s recently released promo offers a first look at Hassanandani in a rural setup, participating in activities far removed from the usual television studio environment.

The promo introduces a line that sets the tone for the show: Lights, camera aur action jinka tha roz ka kaam, ab chulhe, gobar aur gaay-bhains ke beech dhalegi inki shaam.

Chhoriyan Chali Gaon brings together several female celebrities from the television and digital space and places them in a remote village where they are expected to live without urban comforts. Contestants will be required to carry out everyday rural tasks like cooking on traditional chulhas, cleaning animal sheds, fetching water, and interacting with the local community. The show aims to explore how individuals accustomed to urban privileges respond to a completely different lifestyle, testing their adaptability and endurance. The format has been described as a reality-driven social experiment rather than a competition, and will span over several weeks.

In addition to Anita Hassanandani, a number of other television and digital personalities are expected to be part of the show. These include Aamna Sharif, Aishwarya Khare, Chahat Pandey, Anjum Fakih, Sana Makbul, Maera Mishra, and influencer duo Chinki-Minki. Krishna Shroff, Sapna Pabbi, and Nazila Sitaishi are also said to be in talks for participation. Rannvijay Singha, who has previously hosted adventure-based reality shows, will anchor the series.

While the exact premiere date is yet to be announced, the show is expected to launch in a weekend primetime slot. With a mix of established actors and emerging digital names, the show has already sparked interest. For Hassanandani, known for her glamorous roles and polished image, this reality outing marks a notable departure and adds a new dimension to her screen journey.
