Anita Hassanandani opens up on the career sacrifices she made for Eijaz Khan; says, 'He didn't stop me'

Anita Hassanandani and Eijaz Khan dated for many years before ending their relationship in 2010. Millions of fans shipped them and thought they did end up as a married couple. But that did not happen. Years later, she married entrepreneur and finance professional Rohit Reddy, and they have a son. Anita Hassanandani is back on TV with the show Suman Indori. It is coming on Colors.

On a chat show, Anita Hassanandani said that her relationship with Eijaz Khan taught her a lot, and made her a better person. She said they were good individuals but somehow not good for one another. She said she regrets letting go of some opportunities in the prime of her career because of her relationship. She also clarified that Eijaz Khan did not ask her to make sacrifices or let go of work. Anita Hassanandani says now she regrets doing the same. She told Siddharth Kannan, “I wasn't sure if Eijaz was okay with it. He didn't stop me, but because I wanted to overdo in the relationship, I made a few bad career moves.”

She said that while Eijaz Khan did not force her, he would say he would not like to see her doing certain kind of scenes and so on. Anita Hassanandani said she let go of movies that went on to be huge successes. The actress said love/relationship was more important for her then. She was quoted as saying, “

That’s my only regret. You change a bit in love to impress the other person. You want them to love you a little more so you do certain things.”

She said that she is dealing with mom guilt as she has to leave her son, Aarav and devote time to work. Anita Hassanandani said she is missing shooting and life on the sets. But she wants to strike a balance. She said, “As parents, it’s important to consider our own needs and passions, too.” She said her husband Rohit Reddy is with their son when she is too busy with her professional assignments.
