And FINALLY! The much-delayed 'Khichdi' to go ON-AIR from..

Star Plus' much-awaited and much-delayed comedy, Khichdi has been in the works for a while now and we finally know, from when the show will go on-air.

Initially, the show was supposed to go on-air from January or February; however, several reasons led to the delay and it was pushed ahead.

Now, according to a leading news daily, the show will finally be going on-air from 14th April 2018.

Not only this, but the show will be aired bi-weekly (Saturday and Sunday) for one hour long.

Considering makers avoid to launch a new show during the most-watched Indian Premier League (IPL), many wondered as to why Khichdi is planned to go on-air exactly amidst that time.

But to this, JD Majethia, writer and producer of the show, said that in fact, IPL will bring in a new audience to the show. He mentioned how people switch over to channels when a particular match is not as interesting as others and the fact that they are airing on the same network will also come in handy.

About the premise of the show, JD said how the essence and originality of the show has been maintained, and only new elements in the form of cameos have been added to the show's story-line.

The original Parekh family that comprises of Hansa (Supriya Pathak), Praful (Rajeev Mehta), Babuji (Anang Desai) and Jayshree (Vandana Pathak) stay as it is; only they are madder, funnier and crazier.
