Ananya Panday Reveals Sara was her school senior and Kartik is her closest friend!

Ananya Panday is currently on cloud-nine, what with the shoot of her second movie Pati Patni Aur Woh wrapping up. The young starlet made her Bollywood debut this year Punit Malhotra’s Student Of The Year 2, which also starred Tiger Shroff and debutant Tara Sutaria in the lead roles. 

The actress, who has been making the headlines with her co-star Kartik Aaryan for sharing their fun behind-the-scenes videos of their bantering, openly talked about his fun side in a recent interview.

In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, not only did Ananya open up about Kartik, she also revealed that she has known Sara Ali Khan since childhood, as both the divas shared the same school. 

Talking about her Pati Patni Aur Woh co-stars Kartik and Bhumi Pednekar, she said, “Kartik and Bhumi are such talented actors, it was great to share screen space with them.”

Ananya – Kartik – Bhumi starrer Pati Patni Aur Woh is a remake of the 1978 movie, with the same name. The original movie, starring Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha and Ranjeeta, was based on the life of a married man who gets attracted towards his sexy secretary and tries to woo her, by lying about his wife being terminally ill. 

Talking about her grandmother’s obsession with Sanjeev Kumar and she had watch the movie with her nani, Ananya revealed, “At that point, I was not even in talks for the remake but once I signed the film, I watched it again. Times have changed so much that I don’t think that film is very relatable now. The characters in the original were kind of regressive and not fighting back. In our film, the women are more empowered, with strong dialogue, and fit into today’s world perfectly.”

Talking about her comfortable equation with co-star Kartik Aaryan, she said, “Kartik is one of my closest industry friends. He is funny and constantly made me laugh while shooting. We have a comfortable equation.” Talking about Sara Ali Khan, Ananya revealed, “Sara was my senior in school, the two of us were in the same house and participated in a lot of drama competitions.”

Pati Patni Aur Woh is directed by Mudassar Aziz and is produced by Juno Chopra. The film’s shooting recently wrapped up in Lucknow, UP and Ananya, Kartik celebrated with the entire team. 

Kartik also shared a couple of videos and photos in which he is seen smearing Ananya’s face with cake. Kartik will be seen playing Chintu Tyagi while Bhumi is playing his wife Vedika. Ananya will be stepping into the shoes of the hot secretary. Pati Patni Aur Woh remake will hit the screens on December 6, 2019.
