Ananya Panday addresses age gap with Ayushmann Khurrana in Dream Girl 2: It's not an issue

As the excitement builds for the upcoming film “Dream Girl 2,” Ananya Panday recently addressed the 14-year age gap between her and the film’s lead actor, Ayushmann Khurrana. During the trailer launch of the movie, Ananya was asked about her thoughts on the age difference, to which she responded that she doesn’t view it as an issue because such gaps have always existed in celluloid history. She urged people to focus on something other than the age gap while watching the film to avoid creating unnecessary problems.

According to Ananya, the age-gap concern is not a contemporary issue and has been present in films for a long time. She said, “I don’t think ye aaj ka issue hai. (I don’t think it’s an issue). The age-gap has always been there. I don’t think people should think about the age when watching the film. They’re thinking of the age then it’s a problem. Agar do log character mein suit hote hai, toh it’s alright.”

Sharing her experience working with Ayushmann, Ananya admired his skills in portraying characters. His "latkas and jhatkas" impressed her thoroughly, and she tried to emulate him. The actress thoroughly enjoyed her time on set and particularly loved working alongside her character, 'Pooja.'

"Dream Girl 2" is a sequel to Ayushmann's 2019 comedy-drama, where he played Karam, a man with a talent for female voice impersonation, attracting attention from others as 'Pooja.' The upcoming film also stars Ananya Panday, and it boasts an ensemble cast including Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, Manoj Joshi, Rajpal Yadav, Seema Pahwa, Manjot Singh, and Abhishek Banerjee.
