Ameesha Patel issues statement after being accused of 'cheating'; says 'I feared for my life'

Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel landed herself in legal trouble after a social worker named Sunil Jain filed a police complaint against the actress for cheating. Recently, Ameesha performed at an event at Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh. 

According to some reports, the complainant stated that the actress staged an 'extremely brief performance.' 

She left after performing for 3 minutes but reportedly she had charged around Rs 4 lakh for one hour’s performance. A police officer who was present at the location told the media, "The actress reached the stage built on the temple premises at around 9: 30 pm and greeted the audience. Ameesha was supposed to perform for one hour, but she left for Indore after giving a performance for only 3 minutes."

Later, the Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai actress took to her Twitter and issued a clarification and tweeted that she 'feared for her life' at the event. Ameesha wrote,

"Attended the Navchandi Mahostav 2022 yesterday 23 rd April in Khandwa city, Madhya Pradesh … v v v v badly organized by Star Flash Entertainment and Mr Arvind Pandey .. I feared for my life but I want to thank the local police for taking care of me v well."

Now, Ameesha has released a statement. It says,  

"Contrary to reports doing rounds about me cheating a social worker, let me clarify, I attended the Navchandi Mahotsav in Madhya Pradesh on 23rd April 2022. The event organized by Star Flash Entertainment and Mr. Arvind Pandey was so badly organized that I feared for my life. I was never supposed to perform at the event, it was only an appearance that I fulfilled."

She further continued,

"However, when I reached there I realized that the organizers were playing dirty, things seemed fishy and I was not okay with them. I feared for my life, and I am thankful to the local police who helped me leave from there safely when they saw that all the proof was in my favor. Incidents like these put a question on humanity, but I am glad that good people also exist in this world."

On the work front, Ameesha will next be seen in Gadar 2 opposite Sunny Deol. The movie is a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster Gadar. The film was officially announced in October 2021. Helmed by director-producer Anil Sharma, and produced by Zee Studios, the movie is scheduled to release in cinemas in the year 2022.
