The Sandhya Theatre stampede case is causing a lot of trouble for Allu Arjun, the actor of Pushpa 2. Each day brings new developments to the story. Additionally, various prominent leaders and actors are voicing their opinions on Allu Arjun's involvement in this situation. On Tuesday, Congress MLA R Bhoopathi Reddy stated that he would not tolerate any criticism from Allu Arjun towards Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and cautioned that the actor's movies might face restrictions in the state.
The MLA from Nizamabad (Rural) mentioned that Congress has always supported the cinema industry. He highlighted that Congress administrations had allocated land in Hyderabad to support film personalities and foster the industry's growth. Additionally, he expressed his view that Pushpa is not a movie that brings societal benefits but rather portrays the narrative of a smuggler.
"If you (Allu Arjun) talk about our Chief Minister, be cautious. You are from Andhra. You came here to live," he said. "What is your contribution to Telangana? We are issuing a 100 per cent warning. Some (Osmania University) Joint Action Committee people have done something at your house. If you don't mend your ways, we will not let your films run in Telangana," he added.
The MLA from Nizamabad (Rural) seemed to be responding to Allu Arjun's remarks on December 21, where the actor described the incident during the Pushpa-2 screening, resulting in a woman's death and her son's injury, as a pure accident. Allu Arjun also denied the accusations made by CM Revanth Reddy. Following Revanth Reddy's criticism of the actor for conducting a roadshow and interacting with the crowds at the theatre, Allu Arjun defended himself, stating it was not a procession or roadshow. He emphasized that he harbored no ill will towards any department, political leader, or government.
The Sandhya Theatre case
In a tragic incident, a 35-year-old woman lost her life during the stampede at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on December 4, with her eight-year-old son being hospitalized. Subsequent to the event, the city police filed a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under various sections of the BNS at the Chikkadpally police station following a complaint from the deceased woman's family.
Allu Arjun, listed as accused No 11, was taken into custody by the city police regarding the woman's passing on December 13. On the same day, the Telangana High Court granted him a four-week interim bail, and he was released from detention on December 14.
