All India Cine Workers Association urges PM Modi for immediate ban on Adipurush screening

In a dramatic turn of events, the All India Cine Workers Association has made a fervent appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling for an immediate halt to the screening of the movie Adipurush and a subsequent ban on its future release on both theatres and OTT platforms.

In a letter addressed to the Prime Minister, the association expressed its deep concerns and insisted on filing an FIR against the film's director, Om Raut, dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir Shukla, and the producers. They claimed that Adipurush, with its screenplay and dialogues, has tarnished the revered image of Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman.

The association's letter strongly criticized the movie, stating, "Adipurush is hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus and Sanatan Dharma. Lord Ram is a deity revered by people of all religious faiths in India, and this movie's portrayal of Lord Ram and even Ravan, who appears as a character from a video game, with dialogues that offend every Indian, is deeply distressing. Actors Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan should not have associated themselves with such a disgraceful production, which stands as a complete disaster for our faith in Shri Ram and the epic Ramayan."

Adipurush, directed by Om Raut, made its nationwide release on June 16 in multiple languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil. The film stars Prabhas as Raghav (Ram), Kriti Sanon as Janaki (Sita), and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh (Ravan).
