Ajaz Khan Gets Arrested For Controversial Remarks

Actor Ajaz Khan was detained by the police today owing to several controversial statements he made recently in a Facebook Live session, according to a report in The Republic.

The statement made by him is as follows, “If an ant dies, a Muslim is responsible, if an elephant dies, a Muslim is responsible. If there is an earthquake in Delhi, a Muslim is responsible, i.e. a Muslim is responsible for any incident. But have you ever thought who is responsible for this conspiracy. This conspiracy is being practiced by BJP (Bhartiya Janata Party). "

This led to a buzz online and now, Khar Police has charged him under the 153A, 117 and 121 acts of the Indian Penal Code.

In the past too, Khan has been under scrutiny and at times, a lot of flak too owing to statements made by him on several issues. He was also arrested in July last year for posting objectionable videos that could allegedly have caused enmity among communities, police had said at the time.
